The John Perry Hut
This is a 70ft x 20ft fully insulated wooden building being divided into a main hall, two leaders rooms and a large bunk room, as well as a separate kitchen. Each leaders room has 3 double bunks, the main dormitory 9 double bunks, all with foam mattresses. Sleeps 30
The kitchen is half wall tiled, has stainless steel preperation benches together with two double drainer sink units with hot and cold water taps. There is a fridge, freezer and a six ring industrial gas cooker with a large oven, no girll -toasters are provided. It is well supplied with cooking utensils. All the rooms have electric heaters and in the entrance area there are coat hooks for outdoor clothing and a benc unit for outdoor boot storage and drying. The building has ramped access for wheelchairs. The main hall is well supplied with tables and chairs for upto 34 people.
The Les Burt Hut
This is a 40ft x 20ft wooden building having an open plan. It has background heating and is supplied with cold water to the sink units. There is a fridge and four gas burner rings. The hut is well supplied with food preperation benches, tables and chairs.
Spitewinter has four acres of sloping woodland with several camping areas. These differ in size, some being suitable for groups engaged in troop and patrol camps, others are ideal for backpackers and people carrying out expedition work.
Toilet / Shower Block
The toilet block has male and female sections each with flush toilets and showers, hand washing facilities with hot and cold water. The male section has electric shaver points fitted. The disabled unit is seperate and includes all of the above.
Campfire Circle / Chapel
This area may be used for its designated purposes during group activities. To eliminate damage to the fabric, wood must not be chopped in the camp fire circle. Please ensure ashes are removed after camp fires and that the campfire circle is left clean for the next user.
